The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree is the terminal degree for practicing nurses, as opposed to a PhD in nursing, which is more research/education-based. Our DNP students emerge prepared for the highest level of practice – ready to serve in advanced clinical and leadership positions. Our graduates are skilled in translating evidence into practice and in achieving optimal outcomes at the patient, population and system levels.

A DNP Degree Designed for You

  • Our Masters-to-DNP program is design for individuals who hold a BSN and MSN or a master's degree in a related field (ex., MPH, MHA, etc.)
  • Masters-to-DNP students benefit from the flexibility of taking up to 100% of courses online via the ΢ÃÜȦ Hyflex model.
  • Our BSN-to-DNP with Nurse Anesthesia Specialization is designed for individuals who hold a baccalaureate degree in nursing from an NLNAC or CCNE accredited program.
  • BSN-to-DNP students benefit from a program run in collaboration with the St. Joseph Hospital School of Nurse Anesthesia.

Rhode Island Nursing Education Center (RINEC) is a Providence-based facility for baccalaureate, master’s and doctoral level nursing instruction for ΢ÃÜȦ's Zvart Onanian School of Nursing and URI's College of Nursing.
