Officer Coleman and Elvy

The ΞΆΓάΘ¦ Campus Police ensure your safety 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our kind and approachable officers walk the campus and staff the police office to be readily available to anyone needing assistance. We even have a Campus Police K-9, a comfort dog named Elvy, to help put our students at ease.

Noteworthy Credentials

The ΞΆΓάΘ¦ Campus Police is a dually accredited law enforcement agency, with accreditations from both the Rhode Island Police Accreditation Commission (RIPAC) and the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEAΒ®).

Ensuring Your Safety Indoors...

All of our residence halls are equipped with:

  • card swipe access at the building entrance
  • individual room pin code access

To further ensure the safety of our student residents, we are currently conducting a full assessment of residence hall safety measures. With building and safety standards ever evolving, we ensure that our safety procedures are continually evaluated and improved. Beyond our residence halls, we are also updating our entire College Emergency Operations Plan while performing a Security Operations Assessment of the campus.

...and Out

We have 50+ outdoor blue light emergency phones on campus - on or near the exterior of all residence halls and most college buildings, in our parking lots, and along campus walkways. These phones have a direct speed calling button with an automatic identifier so that the Campus Police Dispatch immediately knows the emergency location. Our campus surveillance cameras, recently upgraded and covering a broader expanse of key campus locations, also give our students added safety assurance.

We Even Have an E-Commerce Safety Zone!

Our Campus Police have designated a 24 hours a day, seven days a week area for members of our campus community to safely meet with individuals for online business transactions. Knowing that e-commerce has increased in popularity – we want to make sure to meet our students where they're at.
